Publication Guidelines

1 Original and Unpublished Research

Authors must submit original scholarly work that has not been previously published in any journal, book, conference proceeding, website, repository, or other publication platform, unless explicitly permitted by the journal. The manuscript must not be simultaneously submitted to another journal while it is under consideration at NNIJAS. Authors should ensure that the research represents a genuine academic contribution and that all sources, ideas, findings, and materials obtained from previous studies are properly acknowledged. Duplicate publication, substantial overlap with previously published work, and submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals are not permitted. Authors remain responsible for confirming the originality and publication status of their manuscript before submission.

2 Manuscript Preparation & Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared in a clear, consistent, and professional academic format. Authors should preferably submit the manuscript in an editable Microsoft Word format and ensure that the document is properly organized before submission. The manuscript should maintain consistent fonts, headings, paragraph formatting, margins, spacing, tables, figures, citations, and references. Authors should carefully check grammar, spelling, punctuation, and academic language. Unnecessary comments, tracked changes, or personal notes should be removed from the final submission. The Editorial Board may request formatting corrections where necessary. Authors should follow the latest formatting instructions provided by NNIJAS and ensure that the manuscript is complete and ready for editorial assessment.

3 Article Structure

Authors should organize their manuscripts in a logical and academically appropriate structure. A standard research article may include the Title, Author Details, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Review of Literature, Objectives or Research Questions, Hypotheses where applicable, Research Methodology, Results or Findings, Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations or Implications, Limitations where appropriate, and References. The exact structure may vary according to the discipline and nature of the research. Each section should contribute meaningfully to the purpose of the study. The research objectives, methodology, analysis, findings, and conclusion should be logically connected. Authors should avoid unnecessary repetition and ensure that the article presents a clear academic argument from beginning to end.

4 Abstract & Keywords

Every research manuscript should contain a concise and informative abstract that accurately represents the content of the study. The abstract should normally provide a brief overview of the research problem or purpose, methodology, major findings, and conclusion or significance of the study. Authors should avoid including unnecessary background information, extensive citations, tables, or unsupported claims in the abstract. The abstract should be understandable independently of the main manuscript. Authors should also provide appropriate keywords that accurately identify the major concepts, variables, themes, or subject areas covered in the research. Keywords should be relevant and specific enough to assist readers in discovering the article through academic searches and databases.

5 Plagiarism / Similarity Requirement

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts satisfy the journal's originality and plagiarism requirements before submission. The manuscript should be checked using a reliable plagiarism or similarity-detection system, and authors should carefully review the resulting report. All borrowed ideas, quotations, data, figures, and other intellectual materials must be properly cited and acknowledged. Authors should not manipulate plagiarism reports or remove legitimate citations merely to reduce similarity. The Editorial Board may independently conduct similarity checks at any stage of the publication process. Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, duplicate content, inappropriate self-plagiarism, or other serious originality concerns may be returned or rejected. Authors are responsible for ensuring the academic originality of their submitted work.

6 AI-Assisted Content Requirement

Authors may use AI-based tools for limited editorial purposes such as grammar correction, language improvement, translation, or formatting assistance. However, the author must remain responsible for the intellectual content, accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript. AI tools must not be used to fabricate research data, findings, references, citations, or evidence. Authors should verify all AI-assisted information before submission. AI-generated material should not replace the author's own scholarly reasoning, analysis, interpretation, or academic contribution. Where significant AI assistance has been used, authors should provide appropriate disclosure where required by the journal. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Manuscripts containing fabricated or misleading AI-generated academic content may be returned, revised, or rejected.

7 Research Methodology & Data Presentation

Authors should provide sufficient information about the methodology used in the research so that readers and reviewers can understand how the study was conducted. Depending on the nature of the research, this may include research design, population, sample, sampling procedure, research tools, variables, data collection procedures, statistical or analytical techniques, and relevant ethical considerations. Data should be presented accurately and consistently with the research methodology. Authors must not fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or intentionally misrepresent data or findings. Statistical procedures should be appropriate to the research design and clearly reported. The interpretation of findings should be based on the actual evidence obtained from the study and should not exceed what the data reasonably support.

8 Tables, Figures & Illustrations

Tables, figures, graphs, charts, photographs, diagrams, and other illustrations should be used only where they contribute meaningfully to the understanding of the research. Each table or figure should be clearly numbered and provided with an appropriate title or caption. Authors should refer to all tables and figures within the main text and ensure that the information presented is accurate and consistent with the reported findings. Any material reproduced or adapted from another source must be appropriately acknowledged and, where necessary, used with permission. Authors should ensure that figures and illustrations are of suitable quality for publication. Tables and figures should not unnecessarily duplicate information already presented in the text.

9 Citation & Reference Requirements

Authors must appropriately cite all sources used in the preparation of their manuscripts. Every idea, quotation, theory, finding, method, dataset, figure, table, or other intellectual contribution derived from another source should be properly acknowledged. References should be accurate, relevant, and presented consistently according to the citation style prescribed by NNIJAS. Authors should verify bibliographic details such as author names, titles, publication year, journal or book information, page numbers, and DOI where applicable. Every citation appearing in the manuscript should correspond to an entry in the reference list. Fabricated references, misleading citations, excessive irrelevant citations, and citation manipulation are not acceptable. Authors should make reasonable efforts to cite original and authoritative sources relevant to their research.

10 Authorship & Author Declaration

Only individuals who have made genuine and substantial academic contributions to the research should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission and publication. The corresponding author should ensure that all authors are properly informed about the submission and review process. Gift, honorary, guest, and ghost authorship should not be practiced. Authors must declare that the manuscript is original, has not been simultaneously submitted elsewhere, and complies with the journal's applicable policies. Where required, authors should disclose conflicts of interest, funding information, ethical approval, and significant AI assistance. The author declaration confirms that the information supplied to the journal is accurate and that authors accept responsibility for the integrity of their submitted research.

11 Ethical Compliance

Authors must ensure that their research has been conducted in accordance with applicable academic, institutional, and ethical standards. Research involving human participants, personal information, interviews, surveys, observations, vulnerable groups, clinical activities, or other ethically sensitive procedures should receive appropriate ethical approval wherever required. Informed consent should be obtained where applicable, and participant privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safety must be protected. Authors should clearly state relevant ethical approval and consent information in the manuscript when appropriate. Research involving animals should follow recognized ethical and welfare requirements. Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for copyrighted materials and other third-party content. Failure to meet applicable ethical requirements may result in the manuscript being returned, rejected, withdrawn, corrected, or retracted depending on the circumstances.

12 Peer Review Requirement

Manuscripts submitted to NNIJAS are subject to editorial assessment and, where considered suitable, peer review by qualified academic reviewers. The journal may use a Double-Blind Peer Review process to support impartial academic evaluation. Reviewers assess manuscripts on factors such as originality, relevance, methodology, academic quality, analysis, interpretation, and contribution to knowledge. Authors are expected to respond appropriately to reviewer comments and make required revisions within the specified period. Peer review is an essential quality-control stage of the publication process. A manuscript may be accepted, returned for revision, or rejected depending on editorial and reviewer assessment. Completion of peer review does not automatically guarantee publication, as the final decision remains with the authorized Editorial Board.

13 Revision of Manuscript

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts following editorial or peer-review evaluation. Revisions should address the comments and recommendations provided by the reviewers or Editorial Board in a clear and academically appropriate manner. Authors should carefully review the entire manuscript rather than making only isolated corrections. Where appropriate, authors should provide a response explaining how significant reviewer comments have been addressed. Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the time period specified by the journal. Depending on the extent of revision, the manuscript may be sent for further review or editorial evaluation. Failure to provide satisfactory revisions within the required period may result in delay, closure, or rejection of the manuscript. Revision does not constitute a guarantee of final acceptance.

14 Final Acceptance & Publication

A manuscript is considered accepted only after the authorized Editorial Board has communicated an official final acceptance decision. Before publication, the accepted manuscript may undergo final editorial checks, formatting, proofreading, reference verification, and other necessary production procedures. Authors may be asked to confirm the final version and correct any genuine errors identified during proofreading. Authors should carefully review the final proof and communicate necessary corrections within the specified period. Final publication is subject to successful completion of the journal's editorial, ethical, originality, and production requirements. Submission, successful peer review, or revision alone does not constitute final acceptance. The journal reserves the right to delay publication where additional clarification, correction, or documentation is required.

15 Copyright & Publication Rights

Authors must ensure that they have the necessary rights or permissions to submit all content included in their manuscript. Third-party photographs, figures, tables, illustrations, substantial quotations, datasets, or other copyrighted materials should be used with appropriate permission and acknowledgement wherever required. Authors should not knowingly submit material that infringes the intellectual property rights of another person or organization. Upon publication, the applicable copyright and licensing conditions of NNIJAS will govern the publication and permitted use of the article. Authors and readers should provide proper academic citation when using published material. Any reproduction, distribution, adaptation, or other reuse must comply with the applicable copyright and licence conditions. Authors should also ensure that publication of the manuscript does not conflict with rights previously granted to another publisher or organization.

16 Author Responsibility

Authors are ultimately responsible for the accuracy, originality, authenticity, ethical compliance, and academic quality of their submitted manuscripts. They must ensure that all information provided to NNIJAS is accurate and complete and that the manuscript complies with the journal's submission, plagiarism, AI, research ethics, authorship, citation, copyright, and peer-review requirements. Authors should respond promptly to editorial communications and revision requests and cooperate with the journal whenever clarification or supporting information is required. If a significant error is discovered after submission or publication, the authors should promptly notify the Editorial Board. Authors are also responsible for obtaining necessary permissions, ethical approvals, participant consent, and institutional clearances where applicable. Submission of a manuscript indicates the author's agreement to follow the journal's policies and procedures.
